Fresh, Organic Boston Natto

Crafted in Arlington, MA, Boston Natto is a locally-made superfood bursting with Vitamin K2, nattokinase, and potent probiotics. Our Japanese founder journeyed through Japan and North America, gleaning production insights from traditional natto factories. Handmade in small batches, we produce a fresh product, never resorting to freezing. We proudly use eco-friendly, organic, non-GMO soybeans from Minnesota. Choose Boston Natto for an unparalleled, authentic taste, setting it apart from common store-bought options which are typically previously frozen.  Our natto ships in 5oz (140 g) packs.

Local pickup option: You can buy this product at our farm stand in Arlington, MA!  For details, look at the instructions under our listing “Pick up our natto yourself”.

Summer natto shipping method notice: During the hot summer months, we ship in insulated boxes with cold packs to keep your natto fresh. If, on the day of shipping, the weather is cool and is forecasted to remain cool during shipping, we may switch to standard boxes and will rebate you the savings.  Note that these costs make a shipment of 24 nattos about 13% more expensive, but they make a shipment of 8 nattos 43% more expensive.  You may wish to consider ordering together with friends to save on the summer extra shipping costs.

Please specify the number of 5 oz (140 gram) fresh natto packs you would like to order, and your shipping preferences.

Important shipping information (PLEASE READ)

  • Shipping: Our summer insulated boxes with cold packs should last 48-72 hours, depending on how hot the weather is.  We recommend you choose fast (1-2 days) shipping when it is hot out.  Aya’s Culture Kitchen is not responsible for shipping delays, but please do let us know if you have issues.
  • About natto freshness: When stored continuously at refrigerator temperatures (ideally 5ºC / 40ºF), fresh natto is at peak quality for about 10 days and is still considered edible for a month or more.  Fresh natto can safely tolerate room temperatures for a couple of days, but it will gradually ferment and gain a stronger flavor and smell, and some will find that objectionable.
  • To save on shipping costs or if you live farther away, consider our shelf-stable freeze-dried natto product.  It can be eaten directly or rehydrated for a very tasty traditional natto eating experience.

About our natto

  • Superfood Powerhouse: Packed with natural sources of plant-based proteins, Vitamin K2, and nattokinase for optimal gut-health benefits.
  • Locally Handmade: Crafted with care in small batches in Arlington, MA, ensuring the freshest natto experience.
  • Superior Ingredients: We only use top-quality organic, non-GMO soybeans grown specifically for natto.
  • Authentic Expertise: Made by a US-educated Japanese biologist who has been trained in natto production by some of the most experienced long-time artisanal natto producers in Japan and the US.
  • Always Fresh, Never Frozen: Unlike most nattos from Asian supermarkets that have been imported frozen, our Boston Natto is always fresh and never frozen. This preserves the strength of its probiotics and maintains its authentic taste and texture.
  • Eco-friendly: Natto produced in Asia and sold in the US is often made with US soybeans which have been shipped across the world twice.  By making our natto directly here in the US, we eliminate carbon impact of this unnecessary global shipping.

Choose Boston Natto for a true, fresh, and authentic natto experience.

I have tried many nattos but Aya’s natto is by far the best. From ordering to pick up, everything was easy (great customer service too!). If you are a natto lover like me, I highly recommend ordering from Aya’s!
